I know it’s “lint” and not “lent” for the stuff you find in your pocket. It’s a play on words you guys. Take it easy. lol.
Well, Camee, Brandon, and I have decided to participate in Lent this year. Personally, I’m walking through two of the reading plans on Youversion and giving up the games Zombie Lane and Castleville on Facebook. Those games have consumed way too much of my not-so-free time and I know that time can be better spent in the Word or in prayer and, lets be realistic, homework. I’m really glad that two of my closest friends are doing it as well. Last night we shared with each other what we were giving up and we’ll be holding each other accountable to those things. Brandon also had the idea of doing a five day fast right before Easter and I really like that idea.
Anywho, here’s some photos from the past few days:
Cari and I had a ladies night out on Wednesday night. For Christmas she got a gift card to this really ritzy place called Flemings in Nashville so we went. I would have taken pictures in the restaurant but it’s one of those places that’s so fancy that its frowned upon. Afterwards we walked around Barnes and Noble and then we went to Sweet Cece’s for desert. These are some things we saw around the area.

I love this part of Nashville. We parked right next to Pancake Pantry and Book Man and Book Woman are right there.
The next morning the sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds and if you caught it just right you could see the circle of the sun perfectly through the clouds without having to squint your eyes or be blinded. I tried hard to capture that while I was driving to school, but alas, the sun evaded my attempts. Nonetheless, I got these cool photos.

As you can see, I have DWS (dirty window syndrome). I love the way the road and the mountains look, though.
Then, last night, Cari, Brandon, and I went to hear a sermon at Fellowship Bible Church. I took this photo right as I was pulling out of the driveway.

I love the fading light. It was actually a teeny bit brighter than that out, but iPhone cameras can only capture so much.
The sermon was really great. A man named Christopher Yuan spoke about his own testimony and shared with us some great, applicable tips on how to loving walk someone from defining their self as a homosexual towards finding their identity in Christ. Check out his website for details on his own past: http://www.christopheryuan.com/main/index.html
And then I took this photo as I was driving home last night.
Camee came over to join Cari, Brandon, and I and we ended up stargazing in my backyard for a bit and then we watched Hook which, if nothing else, reminded me of fond memories from my childhood. lol.
I hope you all have had a wonderful week so far and that you’re able to slow down at some point and really just sit in the presence of the Lord.
Are you participating in Lent? If so, what are you giving up and how are you hoping to grow closer to God?
