Tuesday’s for the Win

Today was construction day number two out of three (possibly four) work days. Things were a lot easier to manage today. We started off working with the rebar again for a bit until a van dropped a few piles of wood for us to transfer down the steep hill to the worksite. I’m horrible at estimating but I would guess that each of us made 10-15 trips up and down that hill. It was intense. We finished transporting the wood down just after lunch and then we excitedly returned to our work with the rebar. We were so tired of going up and down the hill that the frustration work of bending the wire around the rebar was a welcoming task. The rebar work took us the rest of the day to finish but by the time we needed to leave the worksite at 5, we had completely finished all of the rebar work we would need to do for while we’re here…I think hope.

We came home, rested for about thirty minutes and then we dug into some amazing lasagna that Claudia made for us. We had that with some gorgeous salads and what I think we’re homemade breadsticks. For desert we enjoyed orange brownies. It was my first time ever experiencing them but they were delicious.

Nathan was busy all day and wasn’t able to join us during lunch. That was a bummer. He had his huge truck at the shop to get the brakes fixed. When he joined us at dinner, he told us that it had apparently been a miracle that he could stop at all. If it weren’t for a malfunctioning piston near the brakes he would’ve easily been in an accident. If you know anything about how crazy people drive in Mexico or Guatemala then you know that is TRULY a miracle. His brakes are all fixed now so they won’t have to worry about that for a while.

Right now we’re just relaxing until devotionals time. Taking showers and exciting stuff like that. Lol.
